A joint operation between the Roraima Civil Police (PCRR), through the DRRFVAT (Delegacia de Repressão a Roubos e Furtos de Veículos Automotores Terrestres), and the Amazonas Civil Police (PC-AM), via the DERFVA (Delegacia Especializada em Roubos e Furtos de Veículos Automotores), resulted in the recovery of a white Fiat Cronos vehicle on Tuesday, June 3, in Manaus. The car was allegedly stolen on May 27 of this year, in the Caçari neighborhood, eastern zone of Boa Vista.

The victim, a 21-year-old woman, reported to DRRFVAT that she parked the vehicle on a lot next to a college, and upon returning around 8:30 PM, she noticed it had been taken. The incident was documented with the support of security camera footage, which was attached to the police report.

According to Cesar Augusto Lunkes, deputy chief of DRRFVAT, following the theft report, the teams began investigations over the weekend to identify the perpetrators and locate the vehicle.

During the investigation, indications emerged that the car might have been taken to the state of Amazonas, he said.

Based on shared information, DERFVA was notified and located the vehicle in Manaus. One of the suspects voluntarily presented himself at the police station, accompanied by a lawyer, and provided clarifications regarding the incident.

Cesar emphasized that the operation demonstrates effective interstate cooperation.

“The integration between the police forces was crucial for the success of the operation. Even in a short period, we managed to recover the victim’s property and continue the investigations,” he stated.

He explained that the recovered vehicle remains in the custody of the police in Manaus and will be returned to the owner after legal procedures. Investigations are ongoing to identify other possible involved parties, including a second suspect mentioned during the inquiries in Boa Vista.
